To prove this point on today’s programme we reported on a couple of issues connected with animals and the Third Reich!
Yes it seems there is a dog in York who looks like the Fuhrer, whilst Herr Flick masquerading as a cat, seems to be terrorising a village in Cornwall.
Starting in York we reported on Patch, a cross between a French bulldog and a Shih Tzu .
Still a puppy but with a dark mark on the top of his top lip coupled with a large brown area over his left ear, he bears an uncanny resemblance to Adolf Hitler.
As a result no one calls him by his real name and he now responds to the names, “ADOLF” or “HITLER”, but using such names it seems unlikely that he’ll actually obey any orders he may be given!
Owner, Lynda Whitehead, said, “My grandsons are the worst for doing the goose-step when the puppy’s around.”
The mother of Patch, or should that be Adolf, is the French bulldog, whilst Teddy, the Shih Tzu is the proud father.
There are actually three puppies in the litter, and the feeling is that the youngest of the trio is the one most like the Fuhrer, as he definitely has attitude.
Meanwhile in Cornwall the Gestapo seem to be alive and kicking.
Masquerading under the name of SHINY, a cat has it seems been keeping the horrors dished out by the Gestapo alive by terrorising the residents of the Cornish village of Little Treviscoe.
Chasing children, picking fights with dogs and other cats, one of which suffered gaping wounds as a result of the encounter.
Shiny has even burst into people’s homes where the owners have been physically attacked, pinning one victim to the wall!
Some residents say they are so terrified by the animal that they’ve been forced to defend themselves by using hoses, or even mugs of hot tea.
One victim, Paula Burton, complained that Shiny had been pestering her cat through a glass door, when he suddenly attacked her, grimly hanging on to her arm with his claws, resulting in her having to be rushed to A&E, where she was prescribed antibiotics.
Next door neighbour, Carol Ballsdon, claimed that Shiny had attacked her 90-year old mother who suffered a large skin tear down her arm, which needed daily dressings for about three weeks, and two big puncture wounds on the back of her leg.
Mrs Ballsdon said, “It’s just four sets of claws and a set of teeth coming at you!”
Residents have complained to the police, who are powerless to act because laws designed to combat dangerous dogs don’t apply to cats.
Shiny’s owners, Mandie and Adrian Knowles, say they feel the complaints that people have been making against Shiny are very unfair, nevertheless they have consulted an animal psychologist but that neither the RSPCA nor the local vet could find any issues with the cat who they described as perfectly healthy.
It’s difficult to come up with a solution for this one – suggestions on a post card would probably be welcome by the residents affected by this onslaught.
Hope to see you again tomorrow,
Scott
