I’m off travelling for the next few weeks – although I’ll still be on air with a brand new show every Friday. I’m currently in Sesriem in Namibia, looking out at the endless desert.

I was hoping to travel to Kolmanskop while I was here, but it’s too far out of the way (and a lot of the roads have been knacked by the recent rains too which makes a lot of travelling difficult). Kolmanskop is a former mining town which is now abandoned and is currently being reclaimed by the desert.

Tame Impala used an image from the town on their 2020 top 3 album The Slow Rush, so we started tonight’s show with a track from that.

Tonight’s playlist:

Tame Impala – Borderline
Cardigans – Carnival
Art Brut – Emily Kane
Spacemaid – Supercool
Powder – Deep-Fried
Jocasta – Go
Sleeper – Ha Ha You’re Dead
Primitives – Breakaway
Wendy James – Do You Dig It Do You Love It Is It Groovy
Keg – St Michael
Vero – Sticky
Others – Happy Song
Colchester Bicycle Thieves – Not Just Passing Through
Cruel Hearts Club – High Waist Jeans
Bablers – You Are The One For Me
Melys – Sgleinio
Sleater-Kinney – Say It Like You Mean It
Laura Lee and the Jettes – Unsolicited Advice
Fightmilk – That Thing You Did
Berries – Crumpled Clothes
Dagelijkse Misère – On A Leash
Hybrid Kid – Cry
HMS Morris – House
Pacifica – With Or Without You
Suede – Trash
Blur – Peter Panic
Shed Seven – Speakeasy
Annabel Lee – By The Sea
Radio Free Alice – Empty Words
Tapeworms – Pitch Pop
Adwaith – Heddiw / Yfory
Warrington-Runcorn New Town Development Plan – Summer All Year Round
