Our Good For The Soul Mother’s Day special was inspired by my mother, sprinkling some of her favourite tunes throughout the set and we started off strong with a classic from Kool & The Gang’, ‘Ladies Night’.
Soul Spin took us back to ’76 with three big chart hits from Stevie Wonder, Candi Staton and Tavares, and, in my humble opinion, it is criminal that ‘Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel’ never hit No1 on the charts.
Elvis, Harry Styles, T-Rex and Wham! were inspired by my Mum and she picked some big soul/disco tracks from Whitney Houston, Frank Wilson, Kariya, Gabrielle, and the mother of soul herself, Miss Aretha Franklin.
I hope you had a wonderful mother’s day and enjoyed the playlist, you can listen down below if you missed the show.
