So we are now seeing out the spiritual month of March, so it had its EQUINOX? and as per usual, I took to Google AI to find out more – As March 21st, marked the vernal or spring equinox, when the sun crosses the celestial equator, marking the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere, with day and night being nearly equal in length.
What is an equinox?
An equinox is one of the two times a year when the Earth’s axis is tilted neither towards nor away from the sun, resulting in nearly equal daylight and darkness at all latitudes.
Why is it called “equinox”?
The word “equinox” comes from the Latin words “aequus” (equal) and “nox” (night).
How does it affect seasons?
The vernal equinox marks the start of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.
What about day and night length?
While day and night are often said to be equal in length on an equinox, this is not entirely accurate. Due to refraction of sunlight, the sun appears above the horizon even when it is technically below, adding a little extra time to daylight hours.
Equinox vs. Solstice:
Solstices are the longest and shortest days of the year, while equinoxes occur when the day and night are equally as long.
