The World’s Fastest Shrimp

A runner is hoping to become the “world’s fastest shrimp” in The London Marathon.

Essex runner Jamie Campbell wants to break the world record for running a marathon in a crustacean costume (male shrimp).

He said: “When the fastest marathon as a crustacean popped up and it’s faster than my personal best, it just seemed like a really perfect opportunity.”

Mr Campbell, of Southend-on-Sea, will bid to take the record when he runs the London Marathon on 27 April.

He wants to beat the current world record of three hours 13 minutes and 18 seconds.

Good Luck Jamie!

Also on today’s show –

Grammy-nominated R&B artist Angie Stone has died after a car crash.

Early-rising UK stargazers are in for a celestial treat later this week as a partial lunar eclipse takes place just before dawn on Friday.

A Message from listener Sandie Duffy who is in training – Hi Bob, It’s just over 3 weeks to the London Landmark Half Marathon!! Always listen to your lovely show on my long practice run each week, keeps me both distracted and motivated. Would appreciate a nice song (suitable for slow running) on Wednesday, thanks in advance S x – So I played a mix of two suitable running songs – Miley Cyrus – Flowers and The Weeknd – Save your Tears. Thanks Sandie!

Martin’s choice – Hi Bob, My song this week is by an amazing female Canadian singer songwriter multi instrumentalist and artist. She seems to have always been there through all the decades from the sixties up to present day.

She has written some great songs and has won many awards for her music. Over her career she has crossed many genres, folk,  pop rock, and jazz! She’s in her 80s now and in poor health but she continues to perform to this day. I’m talking about Roberta Joan Mitchell ( Joni Mitchell ) the song I’ve requested is both sides now.

She wrote this in her early career

At the age of 21, a very young age to be writing a song about life’s journey! Judy Collins had a big hit with it in the 70s Other artists such as frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond and many others also recorded this song. It was also featured in the film Love Actually. To me this is the best version performed by its writer .. the lyrics are just brilliant and will strike a chord with most people.  Enjoy !!!!!
