Two singer-songwriters talk about their work and plans for this year

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

We’re always trying to find new talent on Phoenix FM – in fact we’re having a few discussions at the moment about how we can improve this.

Last week we had two very talented singer/songwriters in the studio playing live.

Jo Bailey played host on her Drive show to Karis Taylor. Karis only released her debut single last year but since then she’s had incredible support from around the world. She’s also played at many venues across London, taking the stage at The Old Blue Last for Live Nation’s SOURCE showcase.

Michelle Ward brought back a popular favourite to her show, Jakob Deist. Jakob plays indie folk and contemporary folk music either solo or with his trio, We Are All Fossils.

Both artists talked on air about their songwriting, new releases and their plans for 2025. You can hear both sessions at phoenixfm.com.

We’ve featured thousands of local bands and singers since we started broadcasting to Essex full time in 2007 – and we’re always looking for more. If you know someone who could really do with some extra exposure to our eclectic audience, drop me an email here.
