A Billericay cat who went missing for 11 days has been found 30 miles from home by staff at a McDonald’s drive-thru.
Chewie, an eight-year-old Norwegian forest cat, went missing from home in Billericay, Essex, on 14 January.
His owner Sophie Morrish “turned every stone” to try to find him, including ringing all the veterinary practices within a 30-mile radius, knocking on all her neighbours’ doors and ringing local businesses.
She got a call on 25 January to say Chewie had been found at the fast-food restaurant off junction 22 of the M25 near London Colney, Hertfordshire! How he got there nobody knows!
Also on today’s show –

Song for Daphne – “Yesterday Once More”, written by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis, is a hit song by the Carpenters from their 1973 album Now & Then. Thematically the song concerns reminiscing about songs of a generation gone by. It is the Carpenters’ biggest-selling record worldwide and their best-selling single in the UK, peaking at number 2.
And despite promoting it during the show, I completely forgot to do “Backtrack” – The easiest quiz on the radio! Oh well, Maybe I’ll remember next week.
Next Wednesday on One 2 Three I’m going to be joined by Jane Granby from Billericay Operatic Society who will be in the studio to talk about the group’s production of The Wedding Singer, coming to The Brentwood Theatre in March.
