Time to start anew, maybe!

It was a bonus show for me today since I was returning the honours by sitting in for Bob who kindly deputised for me whilst I was galavanting round Germany.

I’m not sure if “galavanting” is the right word when talking about Germany!

Does anyone galavant in Germany?

Be that as it may here I am.

Definitely not galavanting anywhere is the couple stopped by police in Portland, Oregon, under suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle.

When officers searched the vehicle they uncovering a brown make-up case marked, “definitely not a bag full of drugs”.

Well that was a lie for a start as lo and behold upon opening said bag, more than 10g of fentanyl and meth was reportedly found inside.

In addition scales, cash and a loaded gun were also uncovered.

The man and a woman, who were found in the vehicle are reportedly now facing charges of drug possession and, of course, for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

I think they could be in a lot of trouble!

In search of a happier occasion, in the second hour of today’s show we headed off to Bogata to be witnesses at a wedding.

Dressed in a white suit and blue hat, Peruvian actor and activist, Richard Torres had just tied the knot with a tree  in the Bogota’s National park..

Guests were invited to perform readings at the ceremony before he read his vows out loud.

He was then given a ring before kissing the tree three times.

Not sure quite how valid his vows will prove given that he is already married to another tree in Buenos Aires.

It’s unknown what his other wife might have done for him to desert her so soon – he only married her a year ago – or indeed whether she was even aware of his infidelity.

Perhaps he was just branching out and wanting to enlarge his family tree! Who knows?

Torres said that he hoped that people would pay more attention to the man-made environmental problems around the world.

He asked that rebels from Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia change their habits from making war to planting trees.

Good luck with that!

All being well I hope to have the pleasure of your company once again next Monday,
Scott
