Ian Kemble and Sue Evans from the Brentwood Schools Christian Worker Trust told us that the trust works with 38 different local schools with a team of seven staff and many associate volunteers. They deliver assemblies, this year there have been over 200. In lessons they seek to answer the students questions about faith. They provide prayer spaces for opportunities for reflection. One – to pupil support. Also they run lunchtime clubs. The Christmas wonder project this year has been 34 sessions across 19 schools with years 5 & 6 pupils. This aims to help them recapture the wonder of Christmas. Sue gave an example of asking the question, “where would you stand at the nativity?”. Darkness to light is delivered to year 2 pupils through a number of mediums including the use of two puppets, one who is bright and bubbly and one rather quiet and sometimes sad. Sue said that one of the questions asked to the pupils is, “what would you say from the Christmas story to help the sad puppet feel better?”
