Businesses are doing their bit for community

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

Phoenix FM has always featured mental health awareness in its programming. But it’s not just charities and community groups – local businesses are also stepping up to see what they can do to help the community.

Last week we featured two such businesses. Charlotte Lewington from Mente Hermosa came in to talk about her mental health workshops for schools. The company supports individuals who have experienced trauma or live with neurodiverse conditions, helping them unlock their potential and thrive in all areas of life, using such techniques as ADHD assessments and tailored support.

Another local businessman is Rob Clarke, who has set up a home delivery company called Bobby’s which specialises in catering to those with coeliac disease. Rob was inspired by his partner Louise, who suffers from the disease.

Rob is also a musician and talked on air about Men’s Mental Health Awareness Week and the struggles that many musicians had during and after Covid. Nearly every gigging musician was unable to work; the hospitality industry was hit badly and is still recovering, nearly 5 years later.

You can hear all the interviews again at phoenixfm.com – and our own podcast, Mental Health Matters, can also be heard on Spotify and Apple Music.
