Mr Blue Sky for Christmas No 1?

Described by the New York Times as a “social media hellraiser”, Jon Morter did exactly that in 2009, when he upset the X-Factor Christmas applecart and succeeded in getting Rage Against The Machine’s “Killing in the Name” to number 1.

He’s had more success with other projects, including another Christmas no 1 in 2012 with the Justice Collective. So can he do it again and get Mr Blue Sky to number 1 this Christmas?

Paul Golder spoke to Jon about why *that* song, and how people can get involved. You can hear the interview again here:

You can follow Jon on Bluesky and also support the campaign on Bluesky and Facebook too.

And don’t forget – it’s sales between 13 and 19 December which count towards the Christmas chart this year!
