Sophie Rickett trip to Univida school in Brazil
One 2 Three
Patrick Sherring

Sophie recently returned from working with Univida in northern Brazil as part of a group on nine people mainly from Ingatestone Elim church.  In some areas 90% of children and young people live in poverty. Sophie commented that she was shocked with conditions she saw. The charity has 40 years experience of transforming the lives of some of these children through quality Christian education,  building stronger families and stronger communities.  At the moment they are working with 130 children aged 5 years to 15 years in the morning and another 130 in the afternoon. All the funds that Univida have comes from donations and this money is spent directly on the education of the children. The group went to spend their time painting the walls of the building. Sophie clearly thought it had been an amazing and eye-opening experience.
