We’re always looking to highlight the good work that people do in our community, and spread the word so that groups can strengthen themselves and achieve more of their aims.
A good week for us to see this happening is Trustees’ Week, which took place from November 4 to 8. It’s a national event that celebrates the vital role trustees play in supporting charities.
We welcomed a trustee from Saint Francis Hospice, James Pepper, to Jo Bailey’s Drive show. James wanted to give something back as he has a very close, personal connection with the hospice.
James talked about the importance of trustees and also updated our listeners with the latest Hospice shops which have recently opened.
Joining James was Andy Furneaux. Andy has been working as a fundraiser for the hospice since 2011 and is now part of their Local Engagement Team, talking to individuals, groups and businesses regarding anything and everything relating to supporting the charity.
And of course Andy is part of our team too! You can hear Andy’s Boogie Nights show every Saturday evening at 8pm on our airwaves.
James’s interview is online at phoenixfm.com and you can find out more about the work Saint Francis Hospice does at sfh.org.uk.
