Dennis Rensch President of the Brentwood branch of the British Legion came to the studio from a commemoration of Remembrance with children. Representatives from seven schools had laid wreaths and poppy crosses at the Brentwood War Memorial this morning. He feels it is very important that everyone continues to remember those who sacrificed their lives for their country. Dennis commented that he had family member’s who had fought in World wars One and Two. This year the local poppy appeal has raised over £70,000. Donations are used to support those in need in the Armed Forces community including veterans and their families. Brentwood’s annual Remembrance Day parade and service is on Sunday 10th of November. Beginning at 10.35 from Brentwood Town Hall and walking along Shenfield Road on the way to a service at St Thomas’ Church. Streets are always lined with people, there is a marching band and a few years ago had 1,000 members of various military and cadet organisations marching.
