Being a Tuesday I was joined once again by MARGARET MILLS who’s chosen subject this week was a gentleman from Dunmow, Sir George Beaumont, who posthumously became a founding father of the National Gallery.
It is also believed that he used his influence to persuade the parents of one, John Constable, to release him to visit London so he could receive the training and guidance necessary to develop his talents, to become the artist we know so well today.
If you missed what Margaret had to say about this worthy, you can catch it all again here: –
We also reported on the Italian businesswoman who’s is apparently suing the makers of PEPPA PIG.
Yes, it’s all true, Gabriella Capra from Perugia, is launching her lawsuit claiming that she has become the object of scorn following the episode, “HOLIDAY IN THE SUN”.
This episode featured Peppa and her family holidaying in an Italian village, where she became friends with Gabriella Goat, the niece of the local pizza maker, Uncle Goat.
The Italian word for goat is ‘Capra”.
Whilst In the English version of the show, the little goat says: “Hello. I am Gabriella Goat. Baaaaa.”
But in the Italian version the character says: “”Buon giorno, sono Gabriella Capra. Baaaaa.”
The lawsuit filed for Miss Capra states: “Since this episode came out on the small screen she has been the frequent object of derisive jokes by friends and colleagues.”
A statement issued to the Italian media added: “Any resulting sum will be entirely donated to voluntary associations looking after abandoned children.”
So there you have it – is nothing safe from risk of causing offence to someone?
I very much look forward to seeing you again next week,
Scott
