PHOENIX SPORT – 12th October 2024

Despite a reduced football programme due to another international break, it was still an incredibly busy show this week with a stack of sporting events taking place locally, nationally and internationally, and as always I did my best to cover the lot.

In our featured football games, Brentwood Town and Waltham Abbey drew 0-0 at the Brentwood Centre Arena in the Isthmian North, whilst in the National League South Hornchurch grabbed a late equaliser to draw 2-2 away to Salisbury.

But the comeback of the day surely came in the top of the table clash in the Isthmian Premier League, where Billericay Town – second-placed at the start of play – travelled to Sussex to take on leaders Lewes, who were 2-0 up with 94 minutes played but late late goals from Tom Bender and Moses Emanuel saw Gary McCann’s men secure a point, as it finished 2-2.
