It’s the last round of matches in the county championship and with Surrey already crowned champions, attention focuses as to who will go down with Kent and also who will come up with already-promoted Sussex. Jon Filby, Sussex Chairman, joins us to talk about a superb season and he looks forward to a return to the top flight. Jon also gives some interesting thoughts on the direction of travel for county cricket.

Also on the show is Nick Browne, Essex’s long-serving batsman, who has just been awarded a testimonial year in 2025 by the club. He tells us about his plans for a big year and the honour of being the first player in ten years to be awarded a testimonial year by the club.

Plus the usual news, chat and music too. Plus a warning to get saving NOW if you want to go to Lord’s next year to watch England play a Test against India.

Music this week:

Tears for Fears – “Head Over Heels”
MJ Cole – “Crazy Love”

Show first broadcast Thursday, 26th. September 2024 on Phoenix 98FM.
