As a community radio station we try to feature every aspect of the community which doesn’t normally get a voice on the airwaves.

Charities, community groups, schools, hobbies, clubs all manage to find someone brave enough to talk on air about what they do, on a regular basis.

We shouldn’t forget local businesses either – we have a long-standing relationship with Essex Business Partnerships who pop down to Jo Bailey’s Drive show every month to talk about a different topic.

This month, EBP’s Karen Cole brought Gary Boyes of Innovation Management Development. Gary specialises in fire health and safety – in fact, he’s on a mission to make health and fire safety less boring!

Fire safety is a very topical subject right now with the publication of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry last week. We heard Gary’s candid thoughts on the tragedy, existing legislation – and precautions we can take to ensure we are safe at home.
