400 Mile Cycle Ride in Support of The Samaritans – Pamela Scammell

Pamela has recently complete a marathon bike ride from Chelmsford to Edinburgh in memory of her late husband John Scammell, and has to date raise over £1200 for The Samaritans.

Pamela Scammell (Right)

John was a member of ukulele band Yester’Ukes who visited us here at Phoenix back in 2015 for a live session and interview. Sadly, John passed away suddenly in 2022.

John Scammell

Pamela said, “My husband, John Scammell gave me my bike and he was always describing fun times he had in Edinburgh, so in his memory I am cycling over 400 miles to Scotland. John supported The Samaritans, a great charity which helps people when they are at their lowest. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Thank you”

Samaritans is available round the clock, every single day of the year providing a safe place for anyone struggling to cope, whoever they are, however they feel, whatever life has done to them. For more information please visit www.samaritans.org
