You may have heard us playing Night Falls by Lewis Raye on Phoenix FM recently – but who is Lewis? We caught up with him to find out more about his life and music.
Tell us a little bit about your yourself?
I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA.
When did you first start to develop a passion for music?
I began composing songs on piano at age 9, eventually learning to produce them by my early teens.
Which artists did you listen to while growing up?
I would credit Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and his family among my many musical influences.
How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?
Expect good music, start to finish. I have a belief that genres limit the musical experience. Critics have dubbed my blend of soul, funk, and R&B as “urban-pop”.
What music have you recorded and released to date?
In January 2014, I announced the release of my debut single and music video “Light It Up” which received favourable reviews among fans and critics. My debut album “Crying on the Dance Floor” followed. Since then I have released several singles as a solo artist and I have also collaborated with a multitude of talented artists and producers worldwide.
What are your plans for the future?
I am currently crafting a full-length album to be released in the near future.
Where can we find out more about you?
You can find me on Spotify here.
