Barry Hearn & Jez Dickinson
Brentwood Football Club is off to a good start this season, with a win away at Redbridge. We will also be seeing the first season for Brentwood Town Women.
The recent announcement of an enhanced partnership with Matchroom and Barry Hearn has added to the excitement surrounding the club.
Barry Hearn, stressed the importance of grassroots football.
Saying players who travel to games by bus have more incentive compared to those arriving in luxury cars.
Hearn also highlighted the importance of integrating local talent into the team, with the need for a balanced mix of youth and experience.
We heard Hearn’s views on the changing dynamics of football – He mentioned that the decline of the traditional 3:00 PM kickoff offers new opportunities for both fans and clubs. With more midday games being broadcast, there’s a chance for fans to watch Premier League football on big screens while still supporting their local teams later on the day.
Brentwood FC has installed two big screens at their grounds. These will showcase Premier League matches, allowing fans to follow the action on screen before heading pitchside to enjoy a bacon sarnie and a great game of live football.
With Matchroom as the new shirt sponsor and Barry Hearn’s increasing involvement, Brentwood Town FC is truly entering a new era or as I always reference the club on the drive show as a ‘Community Hub’.
