We reported the story today of Henpecked husband, Rogelio Andaverde, 34, who incredibly persuaded some of his mates friends to fake his abduction so he could go out partying.

The masked men stormed into his house brandishing guns and bundled him into the back of a van before speeding off.

His terrified wife watched the drama unfold before calling police.

Andaverde later claimed to have escaped from his captors and so was able to return home “safe and sound”

However police were unconvinced by the story and he was later charged with making a false report.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Guadalupe Trevino told local press: “We often have people making false reports but this is the first time we’ve ever come across someone doing it just to get out of the house to party, and he’s going to party in jail now!”

Of course being a Tuesday I was once again joined by Margaret Mills to tell us about a 14th century lady, named ALICE PERRERS, who somehow managed to become a land owner of some significance. Pretty surprising given that she had been a “lady in waiting” to the father of the Black Prince.
