Early bird and nightfulness is a collection of poems and prayers for the beginning and ending of the day. Dan began writing these items in 2020 as a way to reach out on Facebook live to his congregation in Beaulieu Park. Incidents that happened and items he saw on the media inspired him to write at the beginning of each day. This is developed into a habit that has continued. He said the Psalms in the Bible show how difficult it is to draw a line between poems and prayers.

Bishop Guli Francis-Dehquani, Bishop of Chelmsford wrote “If you experience faith more as poetry than as prose then this delightful collection will appeal to you. A patchwork of prayers and poems for the ups and downs of life, the ebb and flow of faith, the longings and desires of the heart.”
