Dan Mooney has left Southend United following the termination of his contract by mutual consent.
Having arrived friom Altrincham ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, much was expected of Mooney after he netted 12 Vanarama National League goals for the Robins.
The 24-year-old wasn’t able to replicate this form in a Southend shirt after scoring twice last season and only once this term which was in the opening day 4-0 win over Oldham Athletic.
A statement on Southend United’s website read: ‘Dan Mooney’s contract with the club has been terminated by mutual consent. We wish Dan every success in the future.’
The Shrimpers host Bromley at Roots Hall tomorrow.
