Holly Coleman and Frances Coe talked about the Brentwood Schools Christian Worker Trust (BSCWT). This charity has been running for 31 years. They work in 28 Primary sector schools, 7 Secondary schools and 2 Specialist schools in the Brentwood area. Their six core staff and Associate Workers deliver assemblies, lessons, run clubs, provide pupil support and organise prayer spaces. Recently they have worked with over 900+ Year 6 pupils across 25 schools who will be transferring to Secondary schools this year with the ‘It’s your move’ project. The pupils are also provided with a booklet to keep. These sessions enable the Year 6 pupils to consider the Choices, Challenges and Changes associated with their upcoming moves. They also consider helpful conversation starters for meeting new friends. Continuity is also achieved with those pupils who move to Secondary schools where BSCWT hold regular activities.
Other activities happening this term have been “Curiosity trails” and “Life Spaces”. These activities encourage the pupils to be reflective and consider life’s big questions. These can include, “How do you want to be remembered?”
More information about the work of the trust can be found at https://www.bscwt.org
