Braintree Town have completed the signing of 49-goal striker Nnamdi Nwachuku from AFC Sudbury.
The 28-year-old recently left the Yellows after an extraordinary season where he scored 49 goals to help Sudbury earn promotion to the Isthmian Southern Central Division.
He made a name for himself a few years ago at Isthmian North Division outfit Coggeshall Town where he scored an astonishing 101 goals in 100 appearances for the Seed Growers.
A move to Marlow soon followed for the former Colchester United striker where he continued scoring on a consistent basis – this time netting on 23 occasions.
Braintree boss Angelo Harrop has acted fast to secure the prolific striker ahead of the forthcoming Vanarama National League South campaign.
Following his arrival at Cressing Road, Nwachuku told Braintree Town’s YouTube channel that he is excited about the Braintree project.
‘Angelo (Harrop) called me and told me what he is looking to do this season and I got an idea of what kind of manager he was. What he was selling, I was buying!’
He seems like the ideal striker replacement for the recent departures of Alfie Pavey to Farnborough and Lamar Reynolds to Maidstone United.
The Iron have certainly struck gold with the acquisition of Nwachuku.
