This week I was delighted to welcome back Bob Theobald and Terry Smith from Brentwood Bowling Club who were my guests on Phoenix Sport almost exactly a year ago.

They came in to discuss their involvement in the Coronation In The Park festival taking place at King George’s Playing Fields in Brentwood (which is also the club’s home) on Bank Holiday Monday (8th May) between 12 noon and 5pm to commemorate this weekend’s coronation of King Charles III.

Visitors will be able to try their hand at bowling, with sessions being run by the club at the event along with a number of other sports activities.

Bob and Terry were pleased to report that the club’s membership figures have increased during the 12 months since I last spoke with them, and they hope their presence at Monday’s event, as well as a forthcoming open weekend at the club on 20th and 21st May will result in further interest.

The festival is a free event, with on-site parking available on the day and there will also be musical events taking place as well as the sporting activities.

My conversation with Bob and Terry can be heard on the above link, 18 minutes in.
