Watch out for the amazing Grace who has a bright future ahead

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

At Phoenix FM we’re not really desperate to track down the next big thing – we just love to have artists who we love and who we think our listeners will love too.

However, we’re definitely expecting big things from Grace Calver, an artists we’ve been tracking for a while on various shows.

Grace came back to our studios last week to join Andy Gardener on his Monday evening show, Under The Radar.

She’s a 19 year old singer/songwriter from Essex who writes tongue-in-cheek indie pop songs about her life and its highs and lows.

Grace is starting to pick up a bit of buzz too, having recently supported Alfie Templeman and Toploader.

She’s also played at the Latitude Festival and at Ipswich Town Football Club.

Grace’s influences as a musician include Mitski, Declan McKenna and Alvvays. She performed two songs live in the studio – Read Your Mind and Zombie Conversation.

Andy has been presenting Under The Radar for over three years now, broadcasting new and emerging artists every Monday evening at 6pm.

You can hear his interview with Grace, and all of his previous shows, at phoenixfm.com.
