Brentwood Chamber of Commerce’s next big event is the Annual Members Meeting on 11th May

Mike Hawkins writes:

On Thursday 11th May. Brentwood Chamber of Commerce will be holding our Annual Members Meeting – open to all members as well as any businesses which might be thinking of becoming members.

2023 is set to be a momentous year for the local business community as businesses will be invited, in June, to vote for the setting up of a BID (Business Improvement District) opening up huge possibilities for making the Borough of Brentwood an even more attractive place to live in and do business, with significant investments available to achieve that. Those attending the meeting will learn much more about it.

Also, for the first time, Brentwood Theatre will be hosting the event and free food and refreshments will be available for everyone. The Theatre has been undergoing a major refurbishment and we believe those who have not seen it already will be pleasantly surprised and proud of the fact that Brentwood has such an attractive arts hub – which also boasts a fine café.

The Members Meeting will also be hearing from our guest speaker, local Member of Parliament Alex Burghart MP; and Chairman Colin Barber will refer to some of the packed schedule of events lined up, all of them designed to appeal to members and enhance their business – the monthly business breakfasts, of course, but also the ‘Meet the Members’ events, numerous networking events and the summer barbeque, to be hosted by local celebrity Barry Hearn at his Matchroom Sport’s HQ in Mascalls Lane. This is a great opportunity to enjoy Barry’s hospitality and see at first hand the centre of operations for one of the world’s biggest sports companies, also the actual venue for some world ranking boxing matches.

The ‘piece de resistance’ of the year will be the Annual Business Awards, a sparkling event attracting the best in business, and this year to be held in Stock Brook Country Club on Friday 10th November.

It represents a full programme which should be of great value to businesses. But, as we always say, Brentwood Chamber is about much more than networking, important though that is. A small to medium business can often feel isolated, with little say in how the business environment in which they operate is being shaped. But Brentwood Chamber has direct lines to the local and national corridors of power and can make strong representations about the things that matter to businesses and their customers – often with great success.

The Annual Members Meeting should be of interest to every business in Brentwood and all will be welcome – just go to our website: https:// brentwoodchamber.co.uk and register under ‘Eventbrite’. If you are a local business and have not yet joined, now is a good time to do so. Start by visiting Chamber’s website (mentioned above) or email us at: Office@BrentwoodChamber.co.uk
