For this week’s historical feature, Margaret Mills, took us back to events connected to a lengthy drought.

Last week she was looking at a big storm in Southend-on-Sea and this week turned her attention to a long standing drought which lasted between 1890 to 1910 resulting in 1905 to a rates rebellion in village of Belchamp Water to restore the water supply after the local well dried up.
