Any kids looking for a bit of pub education?

So today we reported on the pub warning parents that their unaccompanied offspring would be treated to pints of Red Bull and a course in swearing.

Yes, the Landlady of the HEYES INN in Oswaldtwistle, Lancs, Jo Hunt has posted a sign in her establishment warning parents not to leave children unattended unless they are happy for them to be given pints of RED BULL and taught how to swear into the bargain.

Luckily, the tongue-in-cheek notice went down a treat with regulars and Jo Hunt insists the pub is ‘dog-friendly and child-tolerant’.

Jo said later that the sign was obviously just a joke.

It seems that her own kids don’t often spend much time in the bar. “We had them singing karaoke on Christmas Eve but it’s rare for them to be in the pub,” she said.

Jo and her husband Jordan have been running the pub for almost 10 years but with a really good group of regulars they’re doing really well so in spite of rising costs have just signed a contract to keep the pub running for another 5 years.

For our trip into the past today, Margaret Mills uncovered the history of the secret army of Ashingdon.
