With Vicki Michelle and Paul Golder taking a break from the Music Mix whilst she stars in Sleeping Beauty at Weston-super-Mare it was my pleasure to sit in on their usual slot with the first in an occasional series of Dance Anthems.

As well as familiar favourites I like to dust off tracks you’d forgotten about or are hearing for the first time, with a wide variety from 80s R&B through 90s & 00s club anthems to the best of today’s hip-hop and drum ‘n’ bass.

This week’s playlist included what I think is one of The Weeknd’s finest songs, from 2015; tracks from 2023 Creamfields headliners Tiësto and Gorgon City; and what in my opinion are beautiful new releases from Burna Boy and Romy & Fred Again.
