Campaign For a Statutory Public Enquiry into Essex Mental Health Services – Melanie Leahy and Lisa Bates

We are hearing of suicides and mental health problems on a weekly and sometimes daily basis these days.

Today, Lisa Bates and Melanie Leahy came into the studio to tell us about their experience and the campaign they are running. Two mums who lost their loved ones in very tragic circumstances. What they had to say was truly shocking.

Melanie Leahy has spearheaded a 10 year campaign for a statutory public inquiry into Essex Mental Health services following the tragic death of her son, Matthew. Lisa Bates joined the campaign after the death of her daughter Tillie. Both died while under the care of Essex Mental Health Services.
