With Webby away this week, recovering from a knee operation, Daren hot-foots it from Lord’s, where it has been Day One of the 1st Test between England and New Zealand. A day that was going so well for new captain Ben Stokes, until the final hour, when a familiar batting collapse ruined it all. The one bright spot was a great debut for Matty Potts and also the return of Anderson and Broad; we take a closer look at the day’s events.
There’s also a round up of the news, including the Final of the IPL, were England’s Joe Buttler has been providing the fireworks and there’s more disturbing news coming from Chelmsford, as Essex get another rap across the knuckles.

We discuss the recent furore about ticket pricing at cricket matches and propose that a lot more should be done to broaden the appeal of the game. Charging juniors £100 to watch England at Lord’s is not the way forward…
