With the football season drawing to a close, and resulting in a less hectic on-air Saturday afternoon between now and August, I am looking to invite more guests onto the show and this week, I was delighted to welcome Bob Theobald and Terry Smith from Brentwood Bowling Club, who told me about their upcoming Open Weekend, then by Rylee Doe who came in and spoke about his involvement in the fundraising event and testimonial taking place at Southend United’s Roots Hall ground today.

Saturday’s Cricket action saw Essex heading towards victory at the end of day three of their four-day County Championship Division One match against Lancashire at Old Trafford, the hosts trailing by 75 runs with just one wicket remaining at close of play.

In Football, Rangers lifted the Scottish Cup thanks to a 2-0 win over Hearts after extra-time had been played, whilst Sunderland beat Wycombe Wanderers 2-0 at Wembley to win the EFL League One play-offs and gain promotion to the Championship.
