The 141st FA Cup final ended in victory for Liverpool, who still have the possibility of winning an unprecedented quadruple as they beat Chelsea on penalties, having played out a goalless draw with the Londoners in 90 minutes and extra time.

With this week being Mental Health Awareness Week I was delighted to welcome as my guest Chris Phillips, chief sportswriter with the Basildon/Southend Echo who has organised a charity football match in memory of former Southend United captain Chris Barker, who tragically took his own life at the beginning of 2020 aged just 39.

The ‘Game For Barks’ takes place at Southend’s Roots Hall ground on Saturday 28th May (kick-off 3pm), with a number of Barker’s old team mates from his various clubs taking part and all of the profits going to local mental health charity https://www.secemind.org.uk/.

Chris told me a lot of money has already raised, and he has received tremendous backing with people as high-profile as Gary Lineker and Darren Gough lending their support.

Tickets for the match can be bought here and if you can’t go to the match but would like to make a donation, you can do so here
