The Arts Programme – 119 Fusion music and children’s book week

Thank you to our wonderful guests this week Shephali Frost and Natasha Redmond. Shephali told us about her kind of art, a marriage of music, poetry and performance taking 13th century South Asian poetry and contemporary jazz and mixing it together into a perfect blend which she’ll be performing in a new collaboration with Hot Box and Hylands Park on 20 May 2022. And Natasha Redford gave us the low down on new themes and changing perspectives on children’s books and gave us some great suggestions of books that should be on your reading lists. And your kids can read them too.

And we managed to squeeze in a bit of music too, all book and stories related that you kindly suggested. But the big scoop for those listening again is that friend of the show Colin Taylor has recorded another extract from one of his children’s books and it’s here as a special present for you at the end of the show. Thanks Colin!
