Nice to get back in the chair here at Phoenix today after a two week break.
I shouldn’t use the word break really after a bit of a run of bad luck!
I’ve spent most of the break refurbishing my kitchen. I was up early on Monday to The DIY centre to beat the Bank Holiday rush to get some furniture board. Loaded it in the car with the back seats down but had to prop it on the front passenger seat back as it was too long. Wrapped the front seat belt around them to stop them moving sideways.
When I was nearly home I turned left into my road and there was a car parked very near the junction. Went to pull around it and saw a car coming towards me on the other side so screeched to a halt. The furniture boards shot forward into the windscreen and broke it.
I’m thinking I shouldn’t be let out on my own any more!

Today’s brain teaser – In a lake, there is a patch of lily pads. Every day, the patch doubles in size. If it takes 48 days for the patch to cover the entire lake, how long would it take for the patch to cover half of the lake?
Answer – 47 days
Every day FORWARD the patch doubles in size. So every day BACKWARDS means the patch halves in size. So on day 47 the lake is half full.
