Whether you are a royalist or not, this is a jubilee year – and a remarkable jubilee at that as Her Majesty the Queen is the first monarch to have reached the milestone of having achieved no less than 70 years on the throne.
It must be especially sad for the Queen that her companion and consort for all that time died last year.
It was partly for this reason that Margaret Mills chose as her book choice for this month – ‘Philip: The Final Portrait’ by Gyles Brandreth (2021, Hodder & Stoughton, £11.00 paperback, £9.99 kindle, £16.99 hardback).
The author of this book was a personal friend of Prince Philip so would naturally have had a good insight into his personality so I wondered how accurate his account would be.
Listen here to Margaret’s thoughts on the issue:-
On an entirely different subject we reported on the man who got involved in a heated argument with his girlfriend over from whom they should buy a pizza.
Unlike the pizza the argument became so heated that he ended up stabbing her in the bottom and landed himself with a 5-year jail sentence.
There probably will be little chance to send out for a pizza behind bars!
See you again tomorrow,
Scott
