Our lunchtime host Bob Simpson welcomed in Jonathan Gibbon last week who has formed a fantastic group helping to make Billericay a better place to live in.
Jonathan talked about Billericay Litter Pickers, a Facebook group with over 550 members. Jonathon used to work for Keep Britain Tidy and formed the group with his wife Vikki.
He spoke about how the group started, what motivated him to start the local group and how residents can get involved.
You can find out more about the group on Facebook by searching for Billericay Litter Pickers, and you can hear Jonathan’s interview with Bob on www.phoenixfm.com.
* Keep an ear out for some great guests in the next seven days – Michelle Ward will be chatting to Kaye Bundy about the Essex Map, a new community events tool, and Patrick Sherring will be talking to Revd Jackie-Dee Thornton, chaplain at the University of Essex about her role at the university and her half-marathon in support of The Wilderness Foundation.
* And happy FM birthday to us! We’ve been a full-time station for 15 years now – we started permanently broadcasting on FM on 23 March 2007 after being awarded the licence for Brentwood the previous year. A big thank you to everyone who’s been part of our journey so far – here’s to the next 15 years.
