I was in party mood today to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Phoenix FM first broadcasting on 98FM 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Congratulations to Chairman Paul Golder, Director Tony Smith, Sales Supremo Steven Roach, and the many volunteers, and presenters past and present.
From a personal point of view, I love what I do at Phoenix, and I’m proud to be part of a great team producing original live content of great quality. I’ve met many interesting people both as guests and fellow presenters and made some lifelong friends. Thank you Phoenix FM and here’s to the next 50!

An update from last week’s guest Jonathon Gibbon from Billericay Litter Pickers about their latest news –
“I thought I’d send a quick report on Sunday’s litter pick at Lake Meadows. We had a whopping 49 people, equalling our attendance record for a single pick. This included 24 children and it was fantastic to see lots of Beavers, Cubs, Brownies and Scouts getting involved. Altogether, we collected 17 sacks of rubbish from the park and the surrounding area, so it was a fantastic effort from everyone!
We were also delighted to receive sponsorship for the pick, kicking off our campaign to support the Billericay Food Bank. A huge thank you to National Enforcement Solutions, who work on environmental crime enforcement with Basildon Council, for sponsoring us.
A spooky church has been snapped up as a home and even comes with the ghost of a bloodthirsty black hound, according to legend.
Camila Cabello, Ed Sheeran and Snow Patrol will all play at next week’s Concert For Ukraine, which will be broadcast on ITV and STV.
More than £19billion worth of paper banknotes are still in circulation, ahead of a cut off date that will see them lose their legal tender status.
