England are in Barbados for the second test against West Indies. We update on their progress on Day 2, as they try to build a big first innings total. Our guest is West Indies fast bowling legend Ian Bishop, who is at the Kensington Oval providing commentary for BT Sports. We asked him about his early playing days, breaking into a West Indies team packed with some legendary names and how he then moved into commentating, once hi playing days were over. He remembers the characters he met along the way and talks us through that moment when he wrote himself into cricketing commentary folklore with the “Remember the name” line, as Carlos Brathwaite hit the winning runs, when West Indies beat England in the Final of the 2016 T20 World Cup.

We also mark the anniversary next Wednesday of twenty years since the tragic passing of Ben Hollioake, and play out with the song “You’re Never Gone” by Mark Butcher.

We also round up the latest news from around the world of cricket, including England Women’s progress in the World Cup in New Zealand. Plus the usual mix of chat, music and regular features.

Show first broadcast on Thursday 17th. March 2022 on Phoenix 98FM.
