Artiste Feature: Ostarè

You may have heard us playing out Show ‘Em What You’ve Got by Ostarè on our Rising Stars show this week – but who is she? We caught up with her to find out …

Tell us a little bit about your yourself?

I am an American singer-songwriter, producer and coach, French born. Since I relocated from France to Los Angeles, I led the kind of a career most artists only dream of.

However, a life-altering event had me re-evaluate the true meaning of my art as well as my purpose. The closer I got to God, the more I had clarity that my purpose is to heal people and for that I need to heal myself first.

The meaning of the name Ostarè, pronounced “O STAR AA” is a rebirth, beyond music I am devoted to healing the inner child in everyone. By sharing my gifts from God, I am committed to igniting the champion within and empowering people to be their best selves!

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

Music has always been in my soul to heal me and guide me through tough circumstances. Since Childhood, I was writing, dancing, and humming. No matter what was going on, I found escape in music and dancing.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

I mostly listened to classical music given that I was singing in a church, however, I always loved dancing so I would dance to anything. I respect every artist of course. There are some songs I like to dance to such as Pop music and some music I like to listen to such as Classical music. It all depends on my mood. I love dancing to Max Martin, David Guetta beats, etc.

As far as lyrics, I couldn’t find really a song that hit me to the core having all the elements that work for me. That is how I evolved to doing Pop music that targets inner child healing and empowers people to be themselves.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

It is Dance pop music infused with inner-healing lyrics. I’ve been trained as a motivational coach combined with God’s given gift to inspire people to heal themselves, I write lyrics that awaken the champion within.

I believe everyone has the potential of being their best selves, if they do the work and choose it. Sometimes, I combine some hip hop, EDM, or other styles in the songs or even write in different languages such as French, Russian and a little bit of Spanish.

What music have you recorded and released to date?

I am rebranding so under the new brand, I just released “Show’em what you’ve got” which is about inspiring people to be themselves. When we heal our inner child, we have a chance in life in winning the game of life. Soon, we will re-release “God Loves A woman, and many more to come. It’s a story that walks people through a healing process.

Being authentic in who we are, and know who we are regardless of how we look like, sound like…etc. Character is everything. So far, we got support of many radio stations
both national and international such as IHeart-radio, Capital 87.7, Kiss FM 104.7 ATL, UK Talk Radio, 562 LIVE Long Beach…etc. This song has reached #1 on Pop trending music, reported by 562 live Long Beach, the song is climbing the top20 charts on UK Talk radio, and top 10 on AIC Charts.

We also got support from the following major Latin radio stations, such as Rumba FM (Colombia), Mega Hits (Venezuela), Fiesta FM (Ecuador), Kiss FM (Perú), Radio Hits (España)

Which artists do you enjoy listening to at the moment – and do they influence your work?

Usually, when I go out to clubs I love EDM Music. I listen to remixes by DJs, and I listen sometimes to old music to know more about history and educate myself. At times I listen to classical music to relax and meditate. I definitely like Michael Jackson “you’re not alone”, Katy Perry “Fireworks”, Kelly Clarkson “Stronger”, Pit Bull with Kesha «Timber” Shania Twain “I feel like a woman” …etc.

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

Maybe Pitbull, but I am open to whatever God brings my way that is in alignment with my mission. My dream producers are Max Martin, David Guetta, red one,…etc.

What are your plans for the future?

Currently, shooting music videos for the following singles “God loves a Woman” and “Deep down”. The songs will be taking us on a journey of healing which will inspire and empower people to do the same. We are also working on more surprises, beyond music, coming soon. All of that we do, will be announced on our website.

Where can we find out more about you?

My official website is at www.ostare.com.
