After England’s poor performance in The Ashes, and indeed over the last twelve months, the debate is raging whether domestic red ball cricket is for for the purpose of nurturing players good enough for the demands of Test cricket. Annie Chave, editor of “County Cricket Matters” joins us to discuss whether wholesale changes are needed and also the damage being done by too much white ball cricket being played during the English summer.

We are joined in the studio by Malcolm Webb, President of Brentwood CC and also happens to be Paul’s dad and we have some interesting ideas on how county cricket might be fixed, put us in charge of the ECB!

We also report on the Women’s Ashes, England’s T20 series against the West Indies and updates from cricket going on all around the world. Plus the usual chat, features and music that you have come to expect from the show.

Show first broadcast on Thursday, 27th. January 2022 on Phoenix 98FM.
