Emma told us that each week Sanctus work with around 150 homeless and vulnerable people from their Support Hub in Broomfield Road, Chelmsford. The first value of the charity was ‘if you are hungry we will feed you’ and together with ‘love all, serve all’ anyone can come to Sanctus. From a beginning of working with rough sleepers, now this has expanded to include anyone with financial hardship, poor mental health, addiction, anything that means someone is isolated and on the periphery of the community. This includes anyone who has nowhere else to turn to for help, or just would like some company. Hot meals are served between 12.30-2.30. Take away food is provided, packets of food etc before Sanctus closes at 4pm. This operates seven days a week. There are a small team who work for the charity, including previous clients. There are also a large number of volunteers, but more are always needed. Emma noted that the charity is also always in need of financial support. Any interested in wanting to know more and in being more involved should first visit the website https://sanctus-home.com/ or call 01245 257985
