We’ve got a very laid back Sunday afternoon every week on air with a regular weekly show from jazz musician Keith Ball.
Keith is the son of legendary jazz singer and trumpeter Kenny Ball. He grew up with a wealth of influences, including swing and jazz, and from a young age all types of music played a huge part in his life.
Keith has been singing for many years, influenced by many of the greats, including Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra and Jack Jones.
He’s been on air with us since December last year and used his extensive music contacts to welcome a fantastic series of guests onto his show in that time, including Rick Wakeman, Paul Carrack, Patti Boulaye and Jimmy Jones.
Keith also looks at the Essex music scene too with local legends including Roy Mette, Digby Fairweather and Mick Clarke featuring on his shows.
Keith is currently occupying the 2pm slot on Sundays, while regular presenter Vicki Michelle is on tour. You can tune in on 98FM and find all of his old shows online at www.phoenixfm.com too.
