Sunday show paints a local picture of the arts scene

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

We’re always trying to feature the art world from a local perspective. Along with the Brentwood and Billericay Art Trails, members of the Brentwood Art Society are regular guests – and we also see Brentwood dealer and Banksy expert John Brandler quite often too.

We welcomed in another very experienced dealer to the studio. Local art dealer Soo Turner came in to – where else? – The Arts Programme to talk about her extensive experience in her field and what it’s like to run local art galleries.

Soo is an art dealer and framer with over 25 years experience in the art business. She opened the Turner Barnes Gallery, now known as the Turner Art Perspective, back in 2011.

Soo talked to Rob West about her time in art and design, from working with classic poster company Athena through to opening her own galleries, and how she finds artist whose work she exhibits and represents.

You can hear Soo’s fascinating interview at https://www.phoenixfm.com/category/the-arts-programme/ – the Arts Programme is live on air every Sunday at 4pm.
