Without sounding too much like Greta Thunberg, being green is key. But where do you start? Washing up empty yoghurt pots? Keeping (not killing) house plants? Not printing? Well actually, yes, it’s all of the above and much, much more. As Kermit says, it’s not easy being green.
So why are Outside Help joining the Green Brigade? Simply, to help the planet and those on it. Being a local company with the main aim of supporting the local community why not take it to the world-wide community?
There is no need for special equipment, degrees or talents to be able to go green. Just the motivation of seeing how the changes in the world affect us all on a day-to-day basis. Allergies, food sensitivities, extent of Autism Spectrum Disorders, and serious conditions like chronic illnesses, we are now more than ever conscious of keeping ourselves and our loved ones healthy. It’s getting harder to ignore the connection between keeping healthy and living a safer, greener life. This is what the team at Outside Help are striving for.
They aren’t your usual hippie tree-hugger cliché, however. Being a fast-paced modern technology company, they have a head start in efficiency. To begin with everyone works from home. No travel, no pollution emissions.
What’s a printer? If you still own a printer, it’s time to transport yourselves to 2021 people. With the use of apps and QR codes for tickets and even your Tesco Clubcard, it’s easier now more than ever to eliminate all paper usage. Outside Help have their own online filing cabinet so absolutely all the work they do is cloud based. You won’t be finding their documents in a land fill in 20 years’ time.
The HQ of OH is based in Thorndon Country Park. What a better way to live green then be on your own farm surrounded by protected lands, fields and forest? I think a couple of lessons from Gardeners World on how to make your own vegetable patch will be the next thing on the company to do list…
Partnering with Phoenix FM also gives Outside Help the opportunity to help environmental and green charities such as Butterfly Meadow Project and Hopefield Animal Sanctuary with their green pledge and helping the outside world.
With so much going on in the world and even more easy ways to now be green, why not give it a go? We can all play our part.
