Of course being a Tuesday I was joined once more by Margaret Mills who explained all about the connection between Colchester and HUMPTY DUMPTY.

 

In fact it appears that the original “HUMPTY DUMPTY” was actually a gun installed by royalists in Colchester in 1645 with a view to defending the town from the forces of the parliamentarians.
