With the Tokyo 2020 Olympics having finally got underway, I took a look at the action that had taken place in the early stages.

The 2021/22 Football season looms ever closer and a number of local sides were involved in pre-season friendlies. West Ham United had a very good afternoon in Glasgow, as David Moyes saw his side beat hosts Celtic 6-2.

In local Cricket, Essex League leaders Chelmsford kept up their excellent form away to Harold Wood, beating the hosts by a total of 226 runs.
